We all attended an local event to make “Kashiwamochi” (a rice cake wrapped in an oak leaf) and enjoy “Nagashi Somen” (catch and eat somen noodle through a bamboo gutter).
They are still raw, will be steamed shortly.

We enjoyed “Nagashi Somen” while “Kashiwamochi” was being steamed.
“Kashiwamochi” is ready!
The local community volunteers introduced themselves and we did introduced ourselves. Then we made Kashiwamochi followed by Nagashi Somen, we ate, we did some quizzes about Japanese sweets. All this for 1 hour and half. These people were so organized and punctual although I didn’t feel rushed. Thank you so much for this amazing opportunity.
Went to the kids store to get their floats and off to the pool. Our busy summer still continues…
